"Pleased to speak with PM of Denmark, H.E. Ms. Mette Frederiksen. We reviewed progress in our Green Strategic Partnership and shared ideas on celebrating the 75th anniversary of our diplomatic relations in 2024. Appreciate her support for India’s ongoing G20 Presidency. @Statsmin," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

“Thank you @narendramodi for good discussions on taking our Green Strategic Partnership even further. Also excellent talks on regional and global issues, including India’s G20 Presidency. Denmark is ready to support you. #GreenStrategicPartnership," Frederiksen said, according to the Twitter account of the Danish PM's Office.

According to the Indian Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi had a telephone conversation with Frederiksen and congratulated her on her appointment as the Prime Minister of Denmark for a second term.

The two leaders reviewed the progress of the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership. They expressed satisfaction at the recent high-level exchanges and the growing cooperation, the PMO said.

During their conversation, "the two leaders agreed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India-Denmark relations next year in 2024 in a befitting manner and to explore areas to diversify their relations further," the PMO added.

They expressed satisfaction at the recent high-level exchanges and the growing cooperation between the two sides. PM Modi briefed PM Frederiksen on India's ongoing G20 Presidency and its key priorities. PM Frederiksen appreciated India’s initiatives and conveyed Denmark’s full support to them.

During talks in Copenhagen on May 3, 2022, the two Prime Ministers had shared convergence of interest on the importance of climate action, green growth and energy diversification.

The India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership was established during a virtual summit in September 2020. This partnership was translated into a five-year action plan during Danish PM Frederiksen’s India visit in October 2021. The partnership has since become a catalyst for enhanced cooperation between India and Denmark.
